Hi Guys,
Sorry if this is in the wrong place but I bought a used Dell Inspiron 15R model N5010. It has an option for bluetooth but for some reason there are no drivers installed or someone took them out, I really don't know which. I have Windows 10 Pro installed in the laptop. I have updated everything I could think of and downloaded the bluetooth driver from Microsoft for the laptop I have. Once I downloaded the driver and unzipped it, I attempted to install it and this error message came up.

Im at a total loss of what to do next. If someone could help I would really appreciate it. TIA

Hi and welcome to FpcH

Take a look in Device Manager .....
type ...devmgmt.msc .... into the Search Box bottom left of screen and hit Enter
Click the > next to Bluetooth

1. Is Bluetooth showing ?

2. Are there any yellow exclamation marks or red Xs next to the named devices?

3. If showing - what is listed ?

Have you tried updating Windows?

In the Search Box type ..... check for updates ..... hit Enter

Is your version of Windows 32 or 64 bit?

I've updated my Windows and its Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
and this is what device manager is showing and this is what under Bluetooth and Other devices20210731_111545.jpg20210731_112115.jpg

I have updated everything I could think of
I assume that you have updated Windows ?

Checking the Dell website - Dell Inspiron 15R model N5010 does not support Windows 10.
Vista and Win7.

This is probably why you are getting the error message in your first post.
The driver that you downloaded would have been a Win7 driver.

Take a look here - click here

Scroll down a bit and try "Fix 2"
This should install a generic BT driver.
