I am thinking of building a gaming/video editing system as my first build.

I am going uni this September, studying computer science and i have decided to build a pc system for myself to help me complete different projects at uni. Along with uni, i will also be editing youtube videos at 1080p, with a max resolution of 4k. My budget of building a system is £1500. Within this budget i will be needing ALL COMPONENTS including MONITOR AND PERIPHERALS. However, the one thing that i will not be needing is an OS. I already have an OS on a USB which i will be using. Seeing as i will be editing in 4k, i would prefer a 4k monitor within the budget if possible. . The monitor does not need to have a very high hz, as long as it has an IPS panel, 4k quality, 5 ms the highest response time and at least a 27 inch screen, im not too bothered about the other gaming factors as i wont be hardcore gaming.

In terms of gaming, I am looking to game at 1440p without ANY problems with the fps. I may wish to game at 4k here and there if im feeling up to it. 4k gaming is not a big thing for me, i believe the resolution at 1440p is just as good. I will mainly be playing games such as FIFA, Black ops, Battlefield, Doom, GTA, Skyrim and etc.

Overall, Video editing performance is more important but both are just as important as each other. Id say 55% video editing and 45% gaming. I am based inside the UK.

My final request is that, by spending this much money on the system, how long do you think it will last me? Im looking at 5/6 years if im 100% honest.

I see you have asked this elsewhere [ Tom's Hardware ]
Basroil replied and had obviously spent some time researching this for you and provided links to each component.

Your reply
Nothings impossible mate.
You have not provided a link.

I don't understand your statement.

You seem to be getting help from AV Forums too.

We are not gamers here so would find it difficult to make suggestions.
