My XP202 has stopped printing, showing a red light(continuous) and the trouble shooter is unable to diagnose it. I connected a cable to the computer but the printer refused to cooperate. I have replaced all cartridges but it solved nothing. I am downloading stuff for day trading at the moment so it's very tiresome.

Hi Jim,

Not sure which red light you are referring to - but I did find this - click here

There may be something in the video that may help.

Are your LEDs anything like this ?

Thanks for the reply KenB. The panel is not the same but covers the same functions. its the ink red light that is now lighting continuously, before it used to flash but it printed fine. I ran the trouble shooter but no good, it still did not print.

I tried printing the article via my wife's Epson 3100 but it reported an error on that as well so, time to replace. I tried getting another 3100 but it looks out of date these days. Certainly out of stock in many shops.

Hi Jim

A solid red light [ ink ] could be :

or

There are other options if the ink LED is flashing.

The light continued to remain on and so an error was reported on screen. I had replaced all cartridges and the light remained on. I also checked and rechecked the seating of the cartridges, but it was not to be. I looked online and found another 6100 series AIO printer. It arrived yesterday and it gives a noticeably better print out on text and images. I also got another set of cartridges. I might stick with theirs as it is so much better.

Thanks for the help, I am still pixxed that the trouble shooter found nothing.
Jim.

Hi Jim

Sorry you had to go to the expense of buying a new printer.
Sometimes there is no other option :(
