Hi hope someone can advise me,

I have taken off Vista and installed XP (home) on my old laptop.

Now there are Device Drivers missing.

I cannot update drivers online as I cannot connect for some reason, even though I have a direct ethernet cable link to my modem.

I have tried to find these online from Intel website etc. I have downloaded Intel Chipset to disc, so I can transfer, but others I have no details on the makers name etc.

Can someone either advise on connecting to enable me to search for drivers directly or help me find the drivers I need to download to disc?

Many thanks for any help you can offer.

Kathi

hi kathi have a look at the the bottom of your laptop for make and model number you should be able to go the makers website and download the drivers from there to usb then install

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have found the Mitac website and am downloading the drivers for my modle.

Do you think these will enable me to connect to the internet or is there some other problem I have to sort?

Thanks Kathi

Hi Dave,

I have downloaded and transfered the 8080.iso (?) files from Mitac website vis disc to my laptop but there does not appear to be it any setup application.

Can you tell me how to transfere these files to the right place on my computer?

Thanks for you help!

Kathi

Hi Dave,

I have downloaded the software and run it on the .iso file on the disc.

It says it successfully burt the file and ejected the disc.

I loaded it on the laptop but it looks the same and windows says it can't open it and asks for a programme?

What do I do now?

Thanks for you help!

Kathi
