Hi all,

I am continually getting on start up of my computer two boxes (see picture 8), one is Google drive and the other is a sync and backup. I have tried to uninstall the Google Drive program by going to Control Panel - Programs and Features and trying to uninstall it from there but I get the windows popping up as can be seen in pictures 9 and 10!

Any help to allow me to stop these windows popping up would be very gratefully received.

Many thanks,

Paul

Hi Ken and thanks for the link.

It did help me although strangely I didn't seem to have the same boxes come up as he did but I managed to work it out and have now been able to stop the Google Drive icon from appearing on start up of my computer and have also uninstalled it to be absolutely sure.....

Glad that you managed to sort it.
I will mark this one as "solved" :)

Thanks, but there is still a slight issue I'm afraid.

I have done what the video told me to do and then I uninstalled Google Drive from my computer but I am still getting the "All of your files at your fingertips" syncing box coming on at start up! How is that even possible?

Odd !!

Try this:
Hold .... CTRL + ALT + DEL ... down all together
Click on ... Task Manager
Then click on ... Startup

Scroll down and look for Google Drive

If it is there .... right click on it and select ...."disable"

Hi Ken,

Thanks for reply. I've clicked on Task Manager and I get this window pop up

I can't see a Start Up tab anywhere.

Sorry - I keep forgetting that you are running Windows 7 :(

Try this way:
Hold the Windows key down and press R
In the "Run" box type ... msconfig ... hit Enter

Click on the "Startup" tab

Scroll down until you find anything related to "Google Drive"
If there is a tick in the box next to it - untick it.

Click Apply > OK

Reboot.

Let me know if this helps.
