Hi everyone

Started getting parts for my new pc and I'd like everyone's advice on a motherboard! Vr helped me out a long while ago now but just wondered if anything has changed and as I'm now getting an FX8350 is there a different board I should get? This is the one I was going to get: http://www.ebuyer.com/393527-asus-m...channel-audio-atx-motherboard-m5a99x-evo-r2-0 ideally though I'd love a motherboard without blue bits as the rest of my whole pc is black and red including my mouse and keyboard. My budget is below £120 but maybe I can push it for something really good! What do you thing?

Thanks! Jack

The colour only matters because I'm having LED's on the inside and a window on the side panel so you will be able to see it all...

Hello there, just to say Ive never seen or read anywehere of a mainboard connections etc all being black.

They have colour so people can identify different parts.

JB.

I've seen a few but like you said they are very rare! The only black and red one I can find is the Asus crosshair V one or whatever its called its about 150 quid, which although is awesome I can't really push my budget to that and it's got more features than I'll need

You should always buy a little extra than what you need, you may wish to upgrade at a later different hardware at a later date.

Both mainboards appear fine, what do you intead doing with the computer and is this going to be a complete new build?

JB.

Ive done a quick check on them mainboards they are pretty much the same but the one on eBuyer is slightly better from what I can see looking at the specs.

JB.

Yes it's a totally new build from scratch as my pc at the moment is pretty terrible... It's predominantly a gaming rig but I'm also going to be using it for music recording in Pro Tools... And mild video editing so it's sort of everything really... It's going to have an AMD FX8350 and a GTX 760 superclocked edition, vengeance RAM and it's in a CM storm enforcer... What motherboard would you recommend I get, because I don't even know what price bracket I should be looking in :(

Great,I love a good home build.

The eBuyer one is ample for you.

Mainboards can start from around £30-00 in to hundreds, depending waht your building.

The board can support upto 8 cores,32 gig RAM.Even looking at the basics such as how many USB port is good.Sound card,it looks like a 7.1 8 channel.

To be honest Ive been off the forums for a good while and not looked at hardware in ages.Maybe one of the boys could point you in the right direction but you have already made a darn good choice and at £107-04 its a steal.

Would you like me to ask some of the guys to pop on and advise you further?

JB.

Ohhh that mainboard is lush and we can so dream...

Ok now I love Gigabyte,it was my first new build and I still use my baby today with dual screens.

Now Ive just compared them and your eBuyer choice is again the best option.

I could simply just say Gigabyte because its my fav, however Im truthfull.

Now I am a tight person when it comes to money I want the best quality for the lowest price.I buy nothing if I can help it at full price.

I would hopefully not be spending £140--00 when Ive already made a great choice, that eBuyer has a better sound chip than the Gigabytes to.

JB.

Haha yh one day, one day I will be able to afford that! :D and yh I've heard good things about gigabyte from various people but if the original one I was going to get is the best option I will go ahead and get it :) I'm sure the small bits of blue wont stand out at all anyway and although my case has a side window I'm not going to be staring inside it constantly and my massive CPU cooler should cover it up! Thanks so much for your help!!! Jack

One day we may just get our wish.Id be running triple screens and a flat screen TV off it.

My case has a clear panel but it has a blue light.Maybe you could add a light to your computer, maybe red that would hide or mask the colour of the mainboard.

Ive got a tip for you.You can buy small cable ties from BnQ,they are great for wrapping the cables up and tucking them away it promotes good air flow and looks a lot cleaner through the clear panel.Depending on case maybe hide them behind the mainboard were possible or in an empty area were you would slot a CD/DVD drive.

And your very welcome.

When you get your new build parts together and you want any help or just to shpws us how it lookes pop back we are usually here.

You made a good choice in that mainboard, well done.

JB.

I want to run triple and the TV but been so ill and other stuff Ive not upgraded to better cards.I wanted to do a new build but my brain is fuzzled.

Thanks for all ur help! So glad you said that as I have just found the answer to all my problems! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-GA...UTF8&colid=R2PZ6A5AZCAT&coliid=I16DNCMXIFQB14 it's perfect! :)))) I'm going to be running dual screens and my tv :) and yh I'm planning on getting red led strips to light it up and hopefully make it look epic :) that board just finishes the whole build off perfectly! Now I've just got to build it! I will definitely post some pics when its done as so many people have helped me on here to get to it... And thanks will definitely look in B and Q as I want my PC to be very sexy and don't want wires in the way of my motherboard now :))))
